1. Purpose

The IFA – Austrian Branch seeks to ensure the privacy of its website users. This Policy explains which personal data are collected during visits to the IFA – Austrian Branch website or when content provided under the “wu.ac.at” domain is accessed and how the IFA – Austrian Branch deals with these data. The Policy also provides information on the rights of data subjects pursuant to data protection law. This Policy refers primarily to those sections of the IFA – Austrian Branch website that are open to the public, i.e. sections where contents are accessible without prior registration (hereinafter referred to as “publicly accessible IFA – Austrian Branch website”).

Log files are saved for a period of four weeks. IFA – Austrian Branch uses this information to generate anonymized usage statistics, to ensure correct operation, and to monitor website performance. IFA – Austrian Branch´s legitimate interests are the legal basis for processing this data.

2.3. Cookies

The IFA – Austrian Branch website uses cookies. These are small pieces of data stored on the visitor’s device when the WU website is accessed. Cookies allow the IFA – Austrian Branch website to remember certain actions and settings (e.g. login, language selection, font size and other display preferences) for a certain pe-riod, as long as the cookie remains stored on the user’s device. The IFA – Austrian Branch has no influence over the contents and data protection standards of linked pages. The IFA – Austrian Branch shall therefore not be held liable for any external links.

The IFA – Austrian Branch takes appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect the data subjects’ personal data against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, and unauthorized access.

3. Quality Assurance

This document is subject to an annual review. In the event of discrepancies between the German original and the English translation, the German version shall prevail.
